Which gym do you currently train at? I train at the gym I own, Ebor Fitness in York.

What got you started in bodybuilding? Went on work experience from school to a gym that was full of bodybuilders and just loved the atmosphere and training in the gym . Then I went to see my first bodybuilding show, the Mr York, and I knew that’s what I wanted to do.

Past or present bodybuilding idol and why? I am a big Tony Freeman fan, loads of muscle and shape for a tall guy.

Where did you place in your very first competition? It was the Mr England in 2001 and I won the junior class.

Best bodybuilding achievement? Placing 3rd at the NABBA Britain class 1 in 2008.

Best achievement outside of bodybuilding? Opening my gym at 23 years old and building it in to a successful business.

What is your motivation to train and/or compete? I am fully focused on winning the class 1 NABBA Britain and once I have achieved that I will set my sights on winning the class 1 at the Universe. That is what will keep me motivated for the next couple of years.

Place the following in order of importance:
Training:25%
Nutrition:50%
Rest:25%
What is your training philosophy?
You only get out what you put in.

Favourite type of music?Funky house
Favourite activity away from bodybuilding?Watching York City FC
Favourite Item of clothing? Its got to be my City shirt !!
Favourite POW! training essential?Wrist and knee wraps

What other sport would you have pursued if you didn’t do bodybuilding? Before I was taking the bodybuilding seriously I was Thai boxing and playing Sunday league football, I imagine I would be doing the same.

Where can you see yourself in 5 years time inside or outside bodybuilding? Inside bodybuilding I would like to think I was knocking at the door for a pro card. Outside I want to be still running my gym and it to be as successful as it is at the moment.

What is the one piece of advice you would give to someone entering bodybuilding competitively or non-competitively? I would say the same as my training philosophy: you only get out what you put in.
